Bone beads have nice large hole for craft projects, hemp jewelry or dread beads. Bone beads have an array of shapes, round, half moon, and triangles. Some beads also have lines, cuts, or nicks in them from the manufacturing process that add to the uniqueness of the bead. Bone beads are durable and light weight and do not need to be removed when swimming or showering.

Most modern bone beads are from water buffalo but some may be from cow, sheep or camel bones and are a byproduct of the food industry.

6 mm bead holes - work well for super small dread or really new dreads or hemp jewelry.
8 mm bead holes - are a great for small size dreads or hemp jewelry.
10 mm bead hole - should fit somewhere on almost any head of dreads
12 mm bead hole - fits easy over ends that are chunky.
14 mm bead hole - chunky dreadlocks or places where multiple dreads have grown into one
16 mm bead hole- are for the chunkiest of dreads. If you think you need something bigger than this, contact me.

Extra Small 6 mm - 1/4 = end of a chop stick
Small 8 mm - 5/16 = no.2 pencil
Medium 10 mm - 3/8 = a AAA battery
Large 12 mm - 1/2 = Sharpie Marker
Extra Large, - 14 mm - 9/16 = Large Crayola Marker
Super Large 16 mm - 5/8 = Dry Erase Marker
